DR Congo offers $1m per player for W’Cup Play-off Ticket

The Democratic Republic of Congo have promised each player a one-million-dollar bonus if they qualify for the intercontinental play-offs of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Leopards face Cameroon on Thursday, November 13, in the African play-offs, with the winner set to meet either Nigeria or Gabon for a place in the intercontinental stage.
According to Sport News Africa, President Félix Tshisekedi personally approved the incentive, with arrangements already made for Rawbank to transfer the funds directly to the players if qualification is secured by November 16.
The offer applies only to players, excluding coach Sébastien Desabre and his staff, as the government aims to inspire a first World Cup appearance since 1974.
The CAF-organised play-offs, hosted in Morocco from November 13 to 16, feature four top African runners-up competing for a single spot in the intercontinental play-offs for the expanded 2026 World Cup in North America.
