Kano State Executive Council Calls for Former Governors Arrest
The Kano State Executive Council has called for the immediate investigation and arrest of former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for inciting and reckless comments about the security situation in the state.

The Kano State Executive Council has called for the immediate investigation and arrest of former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for inciting and reckless comments about the security situation in the state.
The demand was made at the Council’s 34th Executive Meeting held at the Government House, Kano, where members reviewed recent remarks credited to Ganduje and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
Ganduje and Jibrin, on the other hand, have criticized the state government's call, calling it as dangerous and unjustified.
He said, “The call for my arrest is reckless, baseless, and a clear reflection of the Kano state governor’s desperation and incompetent.”
Ganduje's Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, stated that the petition for his arrest was unjustified.
Ganduje claimed the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was abdicating its obligations.
He added, “It is deeply unfortunate that rather than addressing the escalating insecurity ravaging the state, Governor Yusuf has chosen to chase shadows while searching for scapegoats to conceal his glaring failures.”
He claimed the governor lacked empathy for the impacted populations.
