NDLEA Arrests Lagos Hotelier, Seizes 1.7 Tonnes of Cannabis

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) achieved a major breakthrough in its
Fight against drug trafficking.
A wanted drug baron, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi (Chisco Bee), was arrested after weeks of surveillance. The 42-year-old businessman, who owns Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig Ltd and Daisy Garden Hotel in Isolo, Lagos, was taken into custody early Saturday, November 15.
Authorities recovered 1.7 tonnes of Loud, a high-grade cannabis strain, neatly packed in 42
jumbo bags and four cartons. Seized foreign currencies included $11,600, £2,000, €2,200,
and 50 Canadian dollars.
This operation was part of a nationwide clampdown. In Osun State, authorities intercepted over 11 tonnes of cannabis, while Edo State saw 1.9 tonnes of skunk recovered from forests, highways, and vehicles. Additional arrests and seizures occurred in Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Lagos, and Kwara, including methamphetamine and tramadol capsules.
NDLEA continues its War Against Drug Abuse, conducting sensitisation campaigns across
schools, workplaces, and communities in Zamfara, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Enugu, Lagos, and
Ogun.
