Nigeria Submits Formal Request for Prison Transfer of Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu

Nigeria has dispatched a high-level delegation to begin discussions with the UK government over the possibility of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu serving out the remainder of his prison sentence in the United Kingdom for human trafficking and organ harvesting in Nigeria. The delegation, which included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi. A source says that a formal request for a prisoner transfer to allow Ekweremadu to serve the remainder of his sentence in Nigeria has been submitted.
