Nnamdi Kanu Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment on multiple terrorism charges.
Justice James Omotosho handed Kanu life sentences on counts one, four, five, and six, choosing mercy over the death penalty.
Additionally, Kanu received 20 years in prison for count two and five years for count seven, with all sentences running concurrently.
This judgment followed Kanu’s conviction on all seven counts related to terrorism offenses, concluding a high-profile trial that has drawn significant national attention.
