"No Ransom was Paid" - Senate

The Nigerian Senate has said no ransom was paid to secure the release of the recently kidnapped persons in Kebbi and Niger state. Senate spokesman, Yemi Adaramodu, disclosed this on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief. According to him, “From our side at the National Assembly, we believe the Federal Government did not pay any ransom to anybody,” he said on the breakfast show. He maintained that the military engagement could have secured the release of the hostages by force or persuasion.
