President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Approves Reappointment of Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) as Chairman of NDLEA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) as Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for another five-year term. Marwa, a former military governor of Lagos and Borno States, was first appointed by the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021. Before his appointment, he had chaired the Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse from 2018 to 2020. By his reappointment, he will remain at the helm of the NDLEA until 2031. The NDLEA under his leadership has recorded the arrest of more than 73,000 drug traffickers and barons and the seizure of over 15 million kilograms of illicit substances.
