President Tinubu Nominates Former Chief of Defence Staff as Minister of Defence

President Bola Tinubu has nominated the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, as the new Minister of Defence. This was communicated in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, asking the senate to screen and confirm Musa as the replacement for Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who resigned on Monday. Musa, 58, served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 until October 2025.
